The Green Party of Monroe County has endorsed Emily Good to run for Monroe County Sheriff.
She is the activist who made national headlines a couple of years ago when she was arrested for obstruction of governmental administration after video-recording Rochester Police officers while they were carrying out a traffic stop.
The charge was later dropped. A statement from the Green Party says Good is running for sheriff because too many people in the area are wrongly incarcerated. Good pledged to target the underlying causes of violent crime and oversee a department that is accountable to the people.
