Mayor Lovely Warren's appointees to the Early Learning Council will hear from the public Tuesday evening at 6 in City Council Chambers.

Rochesterians interested in participating in a public hearing about the expansion of Pre-K to all children in the city will have a chance to do that on Tuesday evening.

In response to Governor Andrew Cuomo’s plan to expand pre-K throughout New York State, last week, Mayor Lovely Warren announced her appointees to a new council to recommend improvements to the city’s early education system.

The council led by Professor Joanne Larson of the UR’s Warner School of Education wants to hear from city residents at a public hearing tomorrow, and at two other sessions in the coming months.

Mayor Warren says the Early Childhood experts on the panel bring diverse perspectives to analyzing the successes and failures of the city’s current pre-k program.

Members of the public interested in voicing their concerns at the open hearing should register for a 3 minute time-slot by 5 p.m. today.

The public hearing is set for 6 p.m. Tuesday in City Council Chambers.
