Douglas Lowry has been reappointed as Dean of the Eastman School of Music. The announcement came Sunday from University of Rochester President Joel Seligman. Lowry was appointed to a second, five-year term.
Lowry joined the Eastman School in 2007. He led the completion of the biggest architectural transformation in the school’s history, which includes the renovation of Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre and the building of the new Eastman East Wing.
Seligman called Lowry “an inspiring leader” who recognizes the school’s role in shaping the future of music professions and training.
