Despite publicity over the investigation into the now-defunct Moreland Commission, and the possible involvement of officials in Governor Cuomo’s administration, he still has a solid lead over his Republican challenger Rob Astorino in the latest Siena Poll.
Cuomo leads Astorino by 32 points, down a little from 37 points three weeks ago, in the survey of likely New York gubernatorial voters.
According to the survey, New York State voters say that corruption in state government is a serious problem, but two-thirds of them are not familiar with the Moreland Commission or its anti-corruption work.
The poll also shows that State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli leads his GOP challenger Bob Antonacci by 34 points, and Attorney General Eric Schneiderman leads his Republican challenger John Cahill by 22 points.
