The sole protester outside Governor Cuomo's budget talk held a sign that displays a tombstone for the state's public education system.

Governor Andrew Cuomo was in Irondequoit Thursday morning lauding four consecutive years of on-time budgets.

The speech comes amid criticism that not enough has been set aside for public school funding.

Cuomo disagrees.  The governor calls for the state to make cuts in all sectors. He criticizes New York school districts for spending more per student in than any other state.

"It would be one thing if we were spending the most, but we had the best education system. We're spending the most and we're decidedly in the middle of pack in terms of results," Cuomo told reporters.

The governor wants to see spending cut and more accountability for teachers and schools.
