Contract ratified for Monroe County court deputies and sergeants

Monroe County and union officials have announced the ratification of a new contract for 121 court deputies and sergeants serving in the Sheriff’s Office.

The announcement came from County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo, Sheriff Todd Baxter and John Crespo who is president of the and Monroe County Law Enforcement Association.

The new contract guarantees Court Deputies will receive a raise every year going forward.

The Monroe County Law Enforcement Association is one of four labor organizations representing Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies.

Contracts were previously finalized with the Monroe County Deputy Sheriff’s Association, which represents the Jail and Civil Bureau; the Monroe County Sheriff’s Police Benevolent Association, which represents the Police Bureau (Road Patrol); and the CSEA Monroe County Sheriff Command Unit, which represents the Command Staff.

That makes this contract with the Monroe County Law Enforcement Association the fourth and final settlement reached between Monroe County and labor units representing Monroe County Sheriff’s deputies.
