Connections: the future for paid family leave

Ivanka Trump has reportedly expressed frustration regarding her lack of success in getting a federal paid leave bill passed. Republicans don't want a mandate for employers; Democrats don't want to limit paid leave to new mothers.

That leaves an opening for states to make their own decisions about what paid leave should look like, and they're doing that. New York State's new law will take effect in 2018, and local attorneys are closely watching. They believe New York's success or failure will have national consequences. We'll discuss exactly what's coming, and we'll answer concerns that employers have had.

Guests are:

Patrick Moore, engineer and father

Beth Cordello, employment law attorney with Pullano & Farrow
