"Conduent" To Be The Name Of A New Xerox Spin-Off Company

Xerox

Xerox has announced the names of the two new companies that will be created following the separation of the corporation into two parts later this year.

The Document Technology company, which involves a lot of the work done in the Rochester area, will retain the Xerox brand name.

But the Business Process Outsourcing  company, will be known by the name, 'Conduent.' That's a name that was made up, to signify things like 'conduit,' 'confluence' and 'constituent,'  as Xerox tries to get across the mission of the new business to connect clients and their constituents.

"Conduent will begin its next chapter as a standalone company with a name that conveys the vital business we  conduct every day," said Chairman and CEO Ursula Burns.

There isn't a new logo yet for the new Conduent company, but that's expected to happen later. There also isn't any word yet if the new Document Technology company will get a refresh of its logo even though it is keeping the Xerox name.

Earlier this week, Xerox announced that Ashok Vemuri will be the CEO of the Business Process Outsourcing company. There's no word yet who will head up Document Technology.

When Xerox splits into two companies, Burns will be chairman of the Document Technology company.
