Community Coalition Will Go to Albany to Promote Goals

A coalition of  business, government, education, labor and nonprofit leaders unveiled its plan for this year.

The Rochester Community Coalition is calling on state lawmakers to support four key economic development projects as well as to make changes to several state laws.

Sandy Parker, president and CEO of the Rochester Business Alliance, is one of the members of the effort.

Parker says this year's agenda is focusing on lowering taxes an creating jobs, "Relief for local governments and school districts for mandate relief, especially in light the property tax cap. Aid for after school programing, and support for four projects identified through the Finger Lakes Regional Council as being transformative and job creating for our region."

The Coalition plans to travel to Albany on March 5th to lobby for their goals.
