In our first hour, we sit down with jazz superstar Vijay Iyer. The Fairport graduate has become, in many minds, one of the most important jazz musicians today. His music is about more than just the instruments; Iyer has merged social awareness and public issues with his diverse skills. We'll talk about the process of creation, and what his hometown jazz festival means to him.
In the second hour, the city of Rochester is offering benefits to transgender employees for the first time. In fact, there aren't many municipalities doing the same. Councilman Matt Haag will explain the city's reasons for the change, and we'll hear from the transgender community on the impact.
