Coming up on Connections: Thursday, July 24th

First hour: July '64

Second hour: Governor Cuomo and the Moreland Commission

In our first hour, we continue the discussion of the 50th anniversary of the riots in Rochester. Gap Mangione, whose family owned a business in Rochester at the time, joins our panel, along with RIT professor John Klofas and Darryl Porter, who was involved in the riot. We'll welcome Tariq Spence of WDKX to help lead the discussion, and we look forward to a stimulating conversation with our listeners.

In our second hour, Governor Cuomo is under heavy scrutiny after the New York Times published a story about his administration's efforts to rein in the Moreland Commission. Cuomo formed the commission last year to go after public corruption, and he boasted that it was a qualified, independent commission with no restrictions. Turns out the govenror's office tried to stop the commission whenever it got close to Cuomo. We'll talk to GOP gubernatorial candidate Rob Astorino, we'll hear from legislative leaders, and our Karen DeWitt checks in from Albany.
