COMIDA Board Up To Full Strength

Monroe County's Industrial Development Agency Board is now back up to full strength.

County Legislature Chairman Anthony Daniele has submitted the name of Gary Collins to fill the final vacancy on the COMIDA board.

Collins is the Chief Operating Officer of Mirror Show Management in Webster. Daniele touted Collins' leadership skills and understanding the benefits that COMIDA provides to area businesses.

After three new members to the COMIDA board were confirmed last month, Daniele says they received resumes from a dozen new applicants and conducted five additional interviews.

Four of COMIDA's seven members resigned in May following a controversy over the way incentives for the I-Square project in Irondequoit were being handled.

The county legislature last month confirmed the appointments of Peter Buckley, Daniel Kuntz and Anthony Meleo to fill three of the seats. A fourth nominee withdrew his name. Collins is a member of the Conservative Party.

Two of the other recent appointees are Democrats, another is registered with the Independence Party, but Daniele said last month that none of the new appointees are that closely tied to their political party.
