Coalition Lobbies for Rochester's Fair Share

Members of the Rochester Community Coalition are back home after spending Monday in Albany seeking support for their 2012 agenda.

Coalition leaders, including Mayor Tom Richards, RIT President Bill Destler and Rochester Business Alliance President and CEO Sandy Parker met with members of the Governor's staff, Empire State Development, Lt. Governor Bob Duffy, and legislative leaders.

Parker says they wanted to emphasize several priority issues designed to jumpstart the economy in the Rochester area. She says they've also been pushing for parity in per-capita state aid for seven years running.

Parker says the coalition is hopeful their message to Albany of inequitable state aid for Rochester is finally sinking in. The coalition also emphasized the projects identified by the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council as transformative for the region.
