Nearly nine months after the shootings and fire in Webster that killed two West Webster firefighters and injured two others, authorities have positively identified the remains of the sister of the man who shot the firefighters.
According to Monroe County Deputies, the New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has positively identified 67 year old Cheryl Spengler.
Her remains were found in a Lake Road house after the events that happened last Christmas Eve. Officials say the cause of death was ruled a gunshot wound to the head and the manner of death has been ruled a homicide.
Spengler was the sister of 62 year old William Spengler who killed himself after fatally shooting two firefighters and wounding two others as they arrived at a fire that he set at his home.
