Carestream Donates $1 Million In Ultrasound Equipment To RIT

Carestream

Rochester-based medical imaging company Carestream is donating $1 million in new ultrasound systems to RIT.  They will be used at the university's Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program, to be installed in RIT's new Clinic Health Sciences Center. It is scheduled to open later this year.

Officials say the donation will help RIT faculty provide a richer academic experience and Carestream will benefit from the insights it receives from RIT faculty, as well as getting feedback from future ultrasound professionals.

RIT's program is one of the few Bachelor of Science programs of its kind in the nation.

Carestream employs 7,000 people worldwide and more than 1200 in Rochester.
