The extreme cold and wind-driven snow has caused a lot of travel problems in our region, including the closure of the New York State Thruway west of exit 46 in Henrietta to commercial traffic.
That happened as of 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. In addition, the Thruway is closed to all traffic between exit 55 in Lackawanna to exit 61 in Ripley.
All vehicles traveling westbound on the Thruway will be detoured off the highway at exit 50 and all eastbound traffic will be detoured off the road at exit 61.
