Ambrell, a local manufacturer, is expanding in Rochester and adding jobs

A Rochester area manufacturer is expanding and adding jobs.

Ambrell Corporation is involved in making products for the induction heating market, and is now located in Scottsville.

The company wants to grow its operations at a larger plant on Lyell Avenue in Rochester.

That move will allow the company to add at least nine employees and retain 65 others.

Empire State Development is supporting the expansion with up to $700,000 through a grant and through the state’s Excelsior Tax Credit program in exchange for job creation commitments.

The total project cost is nearly $2 million.   The state will also help Ambrell expand its international presence.

Ambrell was founded in 1986, and last year was acquired by New Jersey-based inTEST Corporation.
