New Warner School Building Dedicated

Dedication ceremonies were planned Thursday for LeChase Hall, the new home of the Warner School of Education at the University of Rochester.
Warner School Dean Rafaella Borasi says the school was established in 1958, and this is the first building dedicated exclusively for that school.
She says this puts all of the Warner School under the roof, and helps establish the identity and importance of the school of education on campus.
Dean Borasi says the new building has several specialized classrooms, and space designed to support the preparation and development of educators.

The community will be able to enjoy some creative and innovative festivities on the RIT campus this weekend.

The college's annual event includes more than 400 interactive exhibits and performances throughout the Henrietta campus.

Irondequoit Library Vote April 23rd

In less than two weeks, residents in Irondequoit will decide upon a referendum to borrow up to 13-million dollars for a new central library next to the Town Hall.
One more public hearing on the matter was held Wednesday night.
Irondequoit Public Library Director Terry Buford said they addressed the most commonly raised concerns by residents: expanding the parking lot at the Town Hall campus, what would improve at a new facility, and the cost.
He says the cost for taxpayers would amount to 29-cents per 1-thousand dollars of assessed value.
