Congresswoman Louise Slaughter (D-Fairport), has regained her double digit lead over challenger Maggie Brooks (R-Webster) according to the latest poll from Siena Research Institute.

Congresswoman Louise Slaughter has a slim lead over Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks in the 25th Congressional District race, ahead of their Voice of the Voter debate on Friday night.

According to the latest Voice of the Voter poll conducted by Siena College Research Institute, the incumbent Democrat leads her Republican challenger by 5 points, 49 percent to 44 percent. The telephone poll of 800 likely voters has a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.

The Siena College 25th Congressional District poll shows that while Brooks has a slight lead in Western Monroe, Slaughter has a big lead in Rochester.
Released Thursday, the poll says voters think Slaughter is better in the areas of health, education, and the war in Afghanistan.
Siena pollster Steven Greenberg says Slaughter leads 69 to 26-per cent with constituents she already represents, but the district has grown.
