Zweigle's Expanding Its Rochester Plant

Rochester based Zweigle's is expanding.  The company known mainly for hot dogs and sausages will soon broaden its line of products with a 4500 square foot expansion at their plant on North Plymouth Avenue.

Director of Marketing Steve Vacanti says that by installing new equipment, Zweigle’s will be able to sell a number of other ready to go meats.

"Meatballs, sausage toppings, breakfast sausage as well as the fully cooked whole muscle meats that I mentioned and that's things like chicken breasts and different cuts of beef and pork that will play in the retail grab and go segment."

Vacanti says the idea is to not have to depend as much on the usual seasonal products they produce.

And he says Zweigle's will be able to sell the new products to food service companies as well. At this point, Zweigle's is not planning to add any staff.
