Xerox Names Leader For New Business Services Company

Xerox has named a CEO for one of the two new businesses that will be created after the company splits into two parts.

Ashok Vemuri will be the CEO of the Business Process Outsourcing company. His resume includes serving as president and CEO of IGATE Corporation, a New Jersey-based global technology and services company. Before that, Vemuri spent 14 years at Infosys, a multinational consulting and IT services company in a variety of business development and leadership roles.

Xerox's current chairman and CEO Ursula Burns says that Ashok's deep industry experience and track record will be instrumental for the BPO company's future success.

Vemuri says the new BPO business already has an impressive client list and will have many new opportunities.

Xerox has not yet said where the new business services company will be based. They also have not yet announced a CEO for the Document Technology business. According to a source quoted by the Wall Street Journal, Xerox directors have narrowed their search for a leader for that business to two finalists and will choose the winner within a week.

The split into two separately traded companies is on track to be completed by the end of this year. When that happens, Ursula Burns will be chairman of the Document Technology company. A lot of the Rochester-area operations for Xerox are related to document technology.
