Xerox has named a CEO for the document technology business, which will be one of two companies created when the company separates into two businesses later this year.
He is Jeff Jacobson, who joined Xerox in 2012 and most recently has been president of the Xerox Technology business. Prior to joining Xerox, he was CEO of Presstek, a supplier of digital offset printing solutions.
Before that, he was chief operating officer of Kodak’s Graphic Communications Gorup and also served for five years as CEO of Kodak Polychrome Graphics, which was a joint venture between Kodak and Sun Chemical.
When the company splits into two firms, the document technology business will just be known as Xerox.
The business process outsourcing company will be called Conduent. It was announced previously that Ashok Vemuri will be the CEO of that business.
When Xerox splits into two companies, current Chairman & CEO Ursula Burns will be chairman of the Document Technology company. There's no word yet where the two, new businesses will be based. A lot of Xerox's operations in Rochester do involve document technology.
