Xerox To Lay Off 123 People In The Rochester Area

Xerox has filed a notice with the NYS Labor Department that it is cutting 123 jobs from its Webster workforce by mid-November.

The jobs involved are related to providing maintenance and cleaning for Xerox Webster campus.

The company will outsource the work to  a Chicago-based real estate services company.

Xerox employs about 6300 people in the Rochester area.  The company issued a statement saying  the cuts are "a business decision based on its global strategy of exiting non-core activities."
