WXXI featured live coverage of the Rochester City School District’s State of Our Schools address Tuesday, January 24 at 6:30 p.m.
Interim Superintendent Bolgen Vargas delivered the speech at Wilson Commencement Academy on Genesee St. WXXI News presented the speech live on WXXI-AM 1370 and online through our live streaming service at WXXINews.org which you can always access by clicking on the Listen Live button in the upper left hand corner of the page.
The speech was Vargas’ first State of Our Schools speech since taking over when Jean-Claude Brizard left the district to run Chicago Public Schools last year.
As a follow up to the speech, WXXI’s 1370 Connection with Bob Smith will host Vargas live on the radio beginning Wednesday at noon. Vargas will also participate in a live online chat at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday on WXXINews.org answering questions submitted by the general public.
