WXXI News Covering Elections on Radio, TV, and Online

WXXI News, NPR, and PBS NewsHour,  will provide full coverage of Election 2012, beginning at 8 p.m. on WXXI-AM 1370, WRUR-FM 88.5, WXXI-TV, and WXXINews.org.


Listen live on WXXI-AM 1370 and WRUR-FM 88.5, as NPR’s Robert Siegel and Melissa Block will host the evening, along with WXXI’s Bob Smith presenting local results and analysis.

Local contributors include WXXI Capitol Bureau Correspondent Karen DeWitt, WXXI News Director Julie Philipp, and WXXI Innovation Trail Editor Matthew Leonard.  WXXI’s Kate O’Connell will join us from Monroe County Republican headquarters.  Carlet Cleare will be at the Monroe County Democratic headquarters.  We will also have contributions from partner stations WNYC in New York City, WBFO in Buffalo, and WRVO in Syracuse.


On WXXI-TV, PBS Newshour’s Gwen Ifill and Judy Woodruff will co-anchor the evening’s broadcasts, with WXXI’s Hélène Biandudi presenting local results and analysis throughout the night.

Local contributors include University of Rochester political scientist Gerald Gamm, Pulitzer prize-winning journalist David Cay Johnston, and WXXI’s Scott Fybush.
