World Cup Viewing Party in Rochester

billgraysiceplex.com

The general manager at Bill Gray's Iceplex says he noticed no one else in Rochester was holding a viewing party for today's United States - Belgium World Cup match, so Chris Woodworth and his staff decided to invite the community to the Iceplex.

Woodworth says they have 170-thousand square feet of space, with 4 NHL-sized ice rink, and a feature arena that can accommodate around 4-thousand people.

He adds the arena is air conditioned, and there's ice on two of the rinks to help people keep cool.

The game is being shown on a 40-foot screen the iceplex uses to show drive-in movies in its parking lot on Friday and Saturday nights.

Woodworth admits he's not a "soccer guy," but like many others, has been bitten by the soccer bug.

He says it's hard to predict how many people will attend, but he's expecting an enthusiastic crowd.

The doors open at 3:00 and game time is 4 p.m.
