Police shot the dog to stop the attack, and they say a 34 year old male bystander was hit by some sort of projectile. At this point, it’s not been confirmed if it was actually a bullet that struck the man.

Both were taken to the hospital. The woman is in critical but stable condition. The man is in guarded but stable condition.

The dog died at the scene. Rockview Terrace was closed near Lyell Avenue for several hours as part of the investigation.
