White supremacist fliers found around the St. John Fisher campus

sjfc.edu

The president of St. John Fisher College is responding to the discovery of a number of white supremacist fliers that he says were posted overnight from Wednesday into Thursday at several exterior locations on the college campus.

Gerard Rooney says the college immediately removed them and is working to identify those responsible.  He says they have no indication that any member of the Fisher campus community was involved.

The incident was also reported to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department.  Rooney says he is saddened and angered by what took place, and wants to reassure the Fisher community that the college is inclusive and welcomes everyone regardless of ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation or religious background.

In recent months fliers promoting a white supremacist website were also left at some homes in other parts of Pittsford and in Brighton. Deputies don't know yet if the two incidents are connected.
