Wells Fargo is laying off more than two dozen people at its operation in Pittsford.
The company says that Wells Fargo Home Mortgage is cutting 28 people in its Retail Fulfillment Unit.
A spokesman says that after “carefully evaluating market conditions and consumer needs, we are reducing 28 team members to better align with current volumes. We are committed to retaining as many team members as we can, and where possible we are working to identify opportunities within Wells Fargo.”
Altogether, that location on Sully's Trail has 48 staffers. The 28 layoffs are due to occur around Aug. 30.
