Wegmans is getting high marks in another survey. This time it is from the Harris Poll EquiTrend study which measures brand equity. The index looks at factors such as familiarity, quality and purchase consideration.
This poll surveys Americans about grocery retails on a regional level, including the Northeast, South, Midwest and West.
In the Northeast, Wegmans is Band of the Year in the grocery store category. An executive vice president at Nielsen, which puts out the Harris Poll, Michael Treboni, says that Wegmans has a smaller footprint than many competitors in the region, but he says their exceptional ratings make them a “regional David among national-brand Goliaths.”
