Webster Greenhouse Operation Could Create 100 Jobs

A local agricultural company says it will expand its operations to Webster, creating 100 new jobs. That according to Governor Cuomo, who says that Intergrow Holdings will build two new 25-acre state-of-the-art commercial greenhouses to grow produce year-round for the Northeast market.

The project was highlighted Thursday in Rochester by Lt. Governor Kathy Hochul at a meeting of the Finger Lakes Regional Economic Development Council, as part of an effort called "Finger Lakes Forward," which is focused on agriculture and food production.

Intergrow is based in Albion. It wants to build two greenhouses at the intersection of Salt and State Roads in Webster to produce hydroponically-grown tomatoes.

50 people are expected to be hired by July of 2018, with the remaining 50 hired by June of 2021. The state is providing $1.5 million in a grant and tax credits, and RG&E is providing a $400,000 grant to help offset electric infrastructure costs.  COMIDA is also offering tax abatements.
