Trump supporters are celebrating the republican candidate's New York primary victory.

Some prominent Monroe County Republicans watched the results from a private party at Mario's in Brighton.

Mike Barry spoke on behalf of the party chair, Bill Reilich. He says the committee isn't surprised by Trump's win, because he has stirred up a lot of enthusiasm within the party.

"Donald Trump is bringing people out of the woodwork."

Barry says as the race heads toward a general election, Trump will begin to focus more on policy.

"You'll start seeing the people that he's going to hire. Smart people, good business leaders hire fellow smart people and surround themselves with good people and I think that's what you're going to see with him.

Trump's large victory will give him most of New York's 95 delegates, and he is also projected to do well in next Tuesday's primaries in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Connecticut and Rhode Island.
