Mayor Tom Richards has won the support of the City's Democratic Committee, and will be the party's endorsed candidate this fall on the September ballot. But City Council President Lovely Warren, another Democrat seeking the mayor's office, says there are three more committees that need to cast their vote. She says it's unfortunate that Democratic Committee Chair Joe Morelle is "discounting" their vote already. In a statement, the Democratic Committee says Richards has 72 percent of the citywide weighted vote -- enough to clinch the designation. But Warren says after all the votes are tallied in the process, it will show Mayor Richards does not have the overwhelming support of the Democratic Caucus.
