Never mind Rochester's short commute times (20 minutes on average) or the average 36 hour work week or the average credit score of 80 -- among the best scores in the country -- Rochester is stressed out.

That's according to personal financial website Wallethub, which sampled 150 of the most populated cities in four key areas: work stress, financial stress, family stress, and health & safety stress.

Analyst Jill Gonzalez says Rochester's high poverty rate and high divorce rate contributed to the overall ranking.

"When it comes to family-related stress, Rochester had the third highest marks in the country.  So we're seeing really high single parent households with about a third of all households having just the one parent.  And it's no surprise as the separation and divorce rate are the 4th highest in the nation right now," she said.  "The median household income, this is adjusted for cost of living, is less than $31,000, which of course is hard to get by on, and that leads to the poverty rate being extremely high with about a third of all residents living underneath the poverty ring."

Gonzalez says residents and community leaders can use this data to focus on areas to work on to decrease stress.

Newark, New Jersey was listed as the most stressed city in America, according to Wallethub.
