Victor High Tech Firm to Expand

Victor, NY – A company that uses digital technology to preserve the printed page is expanding in the Ontario County Town of Victor.

Kirtas Technologies will invest a million dollars in new scanning equipment, adding more than 140 new jobs over the next three years. The company currently has 18 employees.

Kirtas Technologies has developed high-speed automatic scanning machines for book and magazine articles. It allows them to be scanned into the digital world without damaging the original books. Libraries, publishing companies and internet search engines are some of the customers.

The company is able to scan about five thousand books a month. It's expanding that capacity six-fold to 30-thousand a month.
