UTC Retail, a developer of software, hardware and other products that help retailers improve their businesses is ranked #1 in the latest Rochester Top 100 list. Those rankings, produced annually by the Rochester Business Alliance and KPMG, list the fastest-growing privately held businesses in the Rochester area.
UTC Retail employs 76 people and is based in Victor. The local development firm, The Pike Companies came in at #2 and ConServe, a collection agency, was ranked #3.
The CEO of the RBA, Sandy Parker says this year's list reflects the new diversity of the region's economy. She says technology companies led the list, followed closely by service businesses.
"We had dozens of companies that never before participated in the program apply this year. This really is a celebration of the success of employers in our community," Parker said in statement released Friday.
The business community will honor the Top 100 in a luncheon on November at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center.
