Urban Agenda for Cities

State Assemblyman Felix Ortiz is putting together an "Urban Agenda," and he was here Thursday to compile a list of issues, pitfalls and problems facing Rochester.
Ortiz is Chair of the Assembly Committee on Cities.
He says he plans to visit 62 municipalities in all to see for himself the unique and collective needs of each city, and present his agenda to the Legislature and Governor Cuomo.
Ortiz says action must be taken to address the issues that threaten to bankrupt cities in New York.
He aims to come up with solutions to prevent fiscal distress and remediate situations in cities so they come back and flourish.
Mayor Tom Richards says it's important to have someone in Albany in a responsible position who's willing to see firsthand what issues are facing Rochester.
