The Rochester Chamber Orchestra says its upcoming production of Handel's Messiah will be dedicated to the memory of Derrick Smith. Smith was a well known local baritone singer who performed with the chamber orchestra many times as well as a variety of other local organizations.
Smith, who died last month at the age of 56, was a longtime faculty member of the Eastman Community Music School and Nazareth College.
The Rochester Chamber Orchestra's performance of Handel's Messiah is scheduled for the evening of December 7 at Hochstein Performance Hall.
