Two University of Rochester supporters have committed to donating $3 million to endow the directorship of the university's Institute for Data Science.
Robin and Tim Wentworth are Rochester natives, currently living in St. Louis. Two of their daughters are U of R students. Tim Wentworth is president of Express Scripts, a large pharmacy benefits manager.
Research at the institute focuses on using data science to improve human health, create new industries and expand fundamental knowledge.
In 2013, U of R President Joel Seligman announced the university's $100 million commitment to greatly expand its work in data science.
