UK company adding jobs in Ontario County

A UK-based company that already has a presence in Ontario County will be adding jobs there.

Governor Cuomo has announced that Ultra Electronics will locate a new shared services center in the Town of Victor, creating 80 jobs over the next four years and retaining nearly 200 jobs statewide. About 77 of those positions are located in Ontario County.

Ultra Electronics will be investing $11 million dollars in its Ontario County subsidiary, which is called Flightline Electronics.

That facility will service Ultra’s operations in the U.S. and Canada. Ultra is consolidating business functions across its portfolio of a dozen companies in North America and creating a shared services model for back-office operations.

Officials say the project will involve significant investment in software and equipment for the new center.

Empire State Development will provide up to $800,000 in tax credits in return for job commitments. The Ontario County Industrial Development Agency is also providing incentives.

Ultra Electronics is involved in the defense, aerospace, security and energy markets. Flightline is an advanced manufacturer of instrumentation and communication systems.
