U of R study turns conventional thinking about perfect pitch on its ear

Rochester, NY – Perfect pitch is usually described as the ability to identify a particular note by name or sing a specific note when prompted. It's also known as absolute pitch.

Conventional wisdom says that only one in ten thousand people have absolute pitch. But a new study at the University of Rochester suggests that conventional wisdom may be a little off-key. WXXI's Brenda Tremblay reports.
