Two University of Rochester Students Robbed at Gunpoint
The University of Rochester has issued the following statement regarding the robbery:
At approximately 7 pm this evening two graduate students were the victims of an armed robbery while they were in their residence at University Park Apartments. Two suspects entered the apartment by the front door, wearing all black clothing and ski masks. One suspect displayed a handgun. He ordered one student to gather personal electronics items and place them in a nearby suitcase. The second student was instructed to lie on the floor.
The students complied and there were no injuries. Following the incident the students went to a nearby apartment and called 9-1-1 which, in turn, notified University Security as Rochester Police responded. Several officers searched the neighborhood to no avail. Police technicians came to the scene to check for possible evidence.
