Monroe County Deputies are investigating a one-vehicle crash in Penfield early Tuesday morning that killed two people.

The car was found just before 6am in a wooded area near Harris Road and Atlantic Avenue.

A man and a woman , were found dead at the scene.

They are identified as the driver, 24 year old Pavel Laune of Webster and his passenger, 28 year old Melody Stacklyn of Walworth.

Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn says the car was southbound on Harris Road at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control. The car became airborne, and landed on the side of the road. It also struck several trees.
The driver, a man, was thrown from the car, which overturned; his passenger, a woman, was still buckled into the car.

Authorities are still trying to find out just when the accident happened. Neighbors in the area heard noise about 3:30 a.m., looked around, but didn’t see anything at that time since the car was in the woods.
