Two Dead, Five Others Injured After Fiery Crash In Farmington

TWC News

Two people were killed, five others injured after a fiery crash in the Town of Farmington on Friday afternoon.

Ontario County Deputies say that shortly after 3pm an SUV traveling on Shortsville Road failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection with County Rd. 28 and struck a pickup truck.

The pickup truck was pushed into a car that was approaching the intersection and the truck caught fire.

Bystanders and the first responding deputies were unable to remove either of the two people in the truck due to the fire. Both the driver and passenger in the pickup were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car was treated and released. The driver of the SUV and four children in that vehicle were taken to the hospital. All except one 10 year old passenger were treated and released. That 10 year old suffered internal injuries and is in stable condition.

Possible charges are still being reviewed by the Ontario County District Attorney's office. Deputies say everyone involved in the crash appeared to have their seatbelts on at the time of the incident.
