Two dead and a State Police Lt. injured in Henrietta crash

Spectrum News

Two people are dead, and a New York State Trooper injured following an accident that tied up 390 North for hours in Henrietta on Monday morning.

State Police say that a southbound car lost control, crossed the median and drove into the northbound lanes where that car was hit by an unmarked police car driven by a State Police lieutenant.

The two people in the car that went across the median, a man and a woman, are both 25 years old. The lieutenant suffered what are described as serious but stable injuries and underwent surgery at Strong Hospital.

No names are being released yet and at this point, police don’t know why the car went across the median into the opposite lanes of traffic.

The accident happened at about 9am on Monday, between Hylan Drive and East Henrietta Road.
