Two Boys Who Drowned At Letchworth Have Been Identified

TWC News

State Police have released more information about the incident at Letchworth State Park on Saturday night where 7 people fell over the Lower Falls.

They have now identified the two boys who drowned as brothers, 6 year old Preston Giangregorio of Brockport and 9 year old Dylan Giangregorio.

Preston’s body was recovered Sunday afternoon. Authorities are still looking for Dylan’s body.

On Monday, an underwater recovery team continued searching the Genesee River at Letchworth below the Lower Falls.

Five others, two men and three girls,  were rescued and taken to the hospital for treatment.  Police have said the group was an extended family from the Rochester area. Authorities say they were playing in the water Saturday night and one person slipped, causing  a ripple effect that caused them all to plunge over the falls.

Areas near and around the lower falls at Letchworth State Park are still closed because of the search.
