Tweet the Bridge

The Chamber of Commerce in the Town of Webster is trying to tackle what could be a major traffic headache this summer.

Lanes on the Irondequoit Bay Bridge will be closing at least four times over the next few months so expansion joints can be replaced on the span.

To keep drivers up to date, the Chamber of Commerce has created a Twitter account to let people know the status of the bridge.

The account is @104Bridge.

When the bridge is closed, the detour will be Bay Road and Empire Blvd.

But town officials are recommending people avoid that area by going further south and using Routes 286 or 441.
