Tower280 Gets Its First Retail Tenant

Buckingham Properties

The developers for Tower280, the former Midtown Plaza location, have announced their first official retail tenant. The announcement was made by Buckingham Properties and Morgan Management.

Branca Italian Restaurant, which currently has a business in Bushnells Basin, says it will bring a modified version of its eatery to downtown Rochester, occupying about 4,500 square feet.

“Branca is the first of many retailers who have shown interest in downtown, and specifically Tower280,” said Ken Glazer, Managing Partner of Buckingham Properties. “With an increase in both residential and office users, the retail market is falling into place. We are committed to bringing a vibrant live-work-play destination to downtown Rochester.”

Owner and operator of Branch, Josh Miles, says that he and his partners are 'thrilled to be part of the resurgence of Rochester's center city."

Tower280 is a mixed-use building that will include offices, apartments and retail. The developers say that several residential leases are signed, with occupancy scheduled for the first of the year. The architechtural and engineering firm Bergmann Associates recently announced the relocation of their headquarters to the entire second floor of Tower280 and officials say an additional major office tenant will be announced soon.
