UPDATE: As of 6:20 p.m. on Monday, the Thruway has been reopened between LeRoy and Pembroke.
A section of the NYS Thruway was closed for much of Monday afternoon in the Batavia area.
The Thruway Authority says the highway was closed between exit 47 in LeRoy and 48A in Pembroke in both directions for several hours.
Media reports indicated State Police were dealing with a distraught person in a vehicle on the side of the road.
One person was taken into custody and at this point, there is no word of any injuries.
