The Swing, Dungeons and Dragons, and Fisher-Price Little People.

Those are the newest inductees into the National Toy Hall of Fame at the Strong.

Chris Bensch is vice president for collections at the Strong.

“Two imagination toys, and one motion toy.  So it’s a good blend of two sides of play,” he said.

Bensch says Dungeons and Dragons is, in some ways, the adult version of Little People.

The swing was recognized for its longevity over many centuries.

Vice President of Design for Fisher-Price, Kurt Huntsberger, says it's a huge honor to have Little People inducted into the Hall of Fame.

"Over time, it's been two billion figures sold, out there in children's hands, and for that legacy we're proud to be honored today for this award," he said.

The National Toy Hall of Fame recognizes toys that have demonstrated popularity over multiple generations and have gained national significance in the world of play and imagination.

Bensch adds everything they do at the Strong is founded on the understanding that play is an essential activity, critical to learning and human development.
